Instead of just letting your visitors rate 1 to 5 stars for any type of place, create multiple rating values. This way for restaurants you can have your users give stars to quality of food and friendliness of service for example. Hotels can be rated for clealiness of room and value for price…
You have no limitations…
Gt Multi Ratings plugin allows site admins to create category based multiple rating values.
Usage:
Simply activate plugin, access settings page and create your per category multiple rating titles.
When you will visit the post of a category for which multi rating is on, it will seamlessly over ride regular rating system.
Works only with GeoTheme 3.0.9+
Udated: Claim Listing not working for places without reviews bug fixed.

Thank you for making this plugin. I need this.
Hi, really useful plug in, I wondered how easy it would be to give the plug in the option for half stars too?
ow many different rating areas are allowed per listing ?
thanks
Hi,
Sorry i didnt understand your question. Will u plz make it more clear?
unlimited
Hallo, I bought this plugin, but can somebody please tell me what code I have to insert in the settings page and where exactly? Thanks in advance..
Hi,
This plugin is compatible with latest version of GT. Plz make sure that u have upgraded ur GT.
thanks for reacting to mu post. I have the latest GT version, but have no clue about programming. that’s why I chose GT and this plugin. I need to let users review a restaurant differently than an accommodation or an excursion.
sorry – let’s use restaurants as an example: how many ratings are allowed per category ?
rate the following:
cleanliness
value
service
costs
food
???
???
is there a limit as to how many ratings can be used ?
HI,
You can create as many rating point per category as u want from backend.
Thanks
for example for restaurants I want people to rate:
- quality of food
- service
- friendliness personell
- location
- terras
for hotels it can be:
- hygiene
- service
- comfort of the room
- price-quality ratio
- location
I have no idea how to put this in the settings file.
I hope someone can help!
Thanks
anyone??
Is there anyway to users change the rating, if they want?
And for the users that actually have ratings with normal rating? What will happen if I install multiratings? Can them change the ratings that they have?
Sorry!! its not possible for the user to change rating again if we wants.
Old comments will remain as they r if u will install this new plugin.
Thanks
Hi,
I’m interested in buying this plugin. I have two qestions. The first one is the same as “pijnsen”‘s question 2 posts above, and the other one is about the appearance of the ratings. I mean can we change the appearance of the ratings for example in the box or table, not clean and simple as in the demo? If so, could you give a screen shot about it? (And any discount?)
thanks in advance
Hi
i’m clearly missing something here as the normal rating on the front end does not get replaced by the new multirating system.
Do I need to set anything in GT to get the new ratings module to show? There’s nothing in the readme file to explain.
I’ve set up some extra ratings in the settings page. cleared all caches and nothing has changeed at the front end. I’m guessing I may need to mod the ajax comment file to add the new module but there’s no instructions.
Any help from someone please.
Kevin
Ok forget it.
I did not realise I was still running GT 3.0.7. I’ve upgraded to GT 3.0.9 and it’s working great.
kevin
Hi
Just a quick question now that it is up and working.
How does the multiple ratings work with the sort by ratings or star ratings in the business information box?
Does it produce an agregatescore or just takes from one score?
thanks
Kevin
good question, i’d like to know how/what it shows when a Place is indexed on google. Right now it simply shows the 5 stars for rating.
Will it be an aggregate?
Thx!
Anyone have a sample site to show me what it looks like?
you can pm me: m@findgerman dot com
http://localmiamideals.com/?place=buddakan
Suggestion: A way to do it by individual Place. Use checkboxes in the create Place section & you can choose exactly which rating(s) you want to use
Much much more flexibility:)
What if I use multiple categories, but have the same ratings across the board. Will that be a conflict?
@infoseek – Cleanliness:)
thx for the link. Looks better than I thought & answers some question too!
You really can’t go wrong + support is superb!!!!
too many questions but i still can’t see any authorize person! Are there anyone???
Hi,
Yes this is webnware here.
hi webnware
could you please answer the question in my previous post which is;

Hi,
Thanks for ur interest.
Plz have a look at the admin feature of this plugin. You have a separate page to manage the Rating criteria based on a category.
Plz check the admin and u will find a link in left navigation.
Thanks
oh I get it. I thought it was more complicated and that I had to change the files, but that’s not the case. You just give titles to the subject you want people to rate (quality, hygiene) and link this to several categories (restaurants, hotels, etc). I was thinking upside down.
hi,
i couldn’t find where the admin features of it. Can you give me a direct link?
I have noticed a problem with my Multi Ratings Addon that affects the “Business Owner” (Claim Listing) link for Places in GeoTheme 3.0.9.
When Multi Ratings Addon is activated a Place must have a Review before the “Business Owner” link works. Otherwise, you will click the “Business Owner” link and it will only refresh the page. (Note: This may also be affecting the Send Inquiry / Send To Friend links).
When Multi Rating Addon is deactivated then the “Business Owner” link works fine even if you do not have a review.
Seems to be related to the anchor tag in this line of code:
Business Owner?
… and whether or not the Form ‘claim_form’ on the Place Detail page gets called.
My environment is WP 3.4, GT 3.0.9 with no child theme, Multicity is active.
Hi,
Thanks to highlight this issue. I am looking into it and will update u if i really find this error.
Thanks again.
what about me?? Still waiting
when you login to your wp site, you’ll see ‘ Multiratings’ in de left sidemen. When you click on it, it opens the Multiple Ratings Setting Page. This is the page you enter the rating values (service, price, etc) and assign them to categories. More categories can use the same rating value then. It is very simple.
I just downloaded and activated the Multi Ratings Addon fix (27 June 2012) and it works! Problems fixed:
- Business Owner? link not working
- Send Inquiry link not working
- Send To Friend link not working
- Category Sort By not working when using dropdown box
Thanks, Vikas!
how can I download this? Do I have to download the plugin again?
I asked a question 4 days ago, and still waiting an answer.. Do you really want to sell this plugin? Are you sure?
HI

Could you be a bit clear? Which wp site you are talking about? In my normal site, there is no multiratings on the left side (because i havent bought it yet), in geotheme’s demo site i registered, there is no multiratings on the left side. So the answer is not clear enough!
Long time and not clear answer! Ok, I think I’ll change my mind and may not buy this plugin.
A GREAT addition to the GeoTheme. TY!
how nice to the others!
This plugin works great. if someone cannot afford a measly $13 bucks then they have no business being in business. usually gets back to all questions sooner or later.
I’m a happy camper with ALL his work.
Hi,
Plz let me know again, how may i help u ?
hi webnware, can you check my previous questions? If so i would be glad
Hi webnware. I am seeing two new problems.
See my screenshots of these problems at http://www.westgeorgiadining.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/multi-rating-questions.pdf
1) When I view the ratings in WP Comments I see an extra row of stars for every review. This also seems to cause the last row of stars on a detail page to disappear, but only in IE9.
2) The other problem is that when more than one user provides a review for the same business then one of the user names and dates of submission appears for all the users even though the actual avatar or profile picture is different. This problem happens in IE, Chrome, Safari, Opera and Firefox.
When I deactivate the Multi-Ratings plugin both problems go away. When I reactivate the plugin the problems reappear.
Can you help?
Thank you.
@NotThereYet Are your problems fixed yet?
I will check it again.
Would love to know how this mod is working out for your sites! Any comments would be appreciated.
Also, what has happened to the demo?
Thanks!
Demo link is working now. Plz make sure to clear browser history or cache before accessing the demo.
Thanks
Thanks for getting the demo to work webnware! I would like to know if the issues that (NotThereYet) had were resolved. Could you please keep us posted.
Thanks!
Just downloaded and installed. Really easy and does exactly what it says on the tin.
A great addition to GT, Thanks for yet another fantastic plugin Vikas.
Hi Mike,
Can you test the plugin?
Does it still have the problem as @NotThereYet posted above?
Please let us know here. Thank you
I still have the same problem that I reported a couple of weeks ago. I just downloaded the latest version of Multi Ratings but it is still the same version that fixed the bug I reported in June.
The problem didn’t appear until I started getting more than one review on a Place. I disabled all the Plugins that I had installed after installing Mutli Ratings but the problem still exists.
Sorry.
Let me know ur site url plz.
webnware,
The site and a description of the problem are here: http://www.westgeorgiadining.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/multi-rating-questions.pdf
webnware – It’s working! Thank you so much for taking the time over several days to work on my site directly and find the problem. I realize this was expensive time for you but it says a lot about your company to stand behind the product this way. I’m very impressed and pleased. – NotThereYet
Do you still have all the same moderation features (as in normal GT) with this plugin?
Hi,
I just bought this a few minutes ago and unfortunately it does not show up when i place it into the plugins folder, I’m running GT 3.1.0.
Any suggestions?
Hi,
What is ur plugin file structure now ?
is it like
wp-content/plugins/gt-multi-ratings/multi_rating.php ?
Hi Webnware
file structure is as follows wp-content/plugins/gt-multi-ratings/multi_rating.php, i am however missing the “multi_rating.php” file.

Hi, I can’t see on the demo any sign of your plugin in use. Do you have any links to live sites where I can see it in action?
Sorry posted a wish just now but maybe this plugin handles things. Will ratings stars show as snippet on google search results ?
Hi,
I am really sorry. I didnt understand your question.
Plz make it more clear.
Thanks
Question – does “overall rating” get calculated? or specifically asked for?

Please help
Hi,
Plz try to find this piece of code in multi_rating.php on line number 137
if($p==1){$rating_text = $p.’ rating’;}else{$rating_text = $p.__(‘ rating’);}
Thanks
Hi, is this Plugin still supported ?
Hi,
Sorry for the delay. I am here to answer any question you have.
Thanks
Hi guys,
I have 2 questions:
1. where can I edit to exclude a rate of 0 stars from the calculation of the average (overall rating)? In my setup a rate of 0 stars equals “no rate given” and I don’t want it to bring down the average.
2. How can I make the list of rating values look aligned like in a table? Now in the comment area the stars are not aligned vertically.
Thanks!
OK I solved the point 2 (editing the multi-rating file, but still looking for a solution for question #1.
Can someone answer my question?
Hi,
Your first point seems to be custom request. To get a solution or a bid on you this request plz send me an email on webnware [at] gmail . com or post your request on Themetailors marketplace.
Thanks
I’m running WP 3.5 and Version 1.0.2 of GT Multi Ratings. I switched on the Plugin but in the settings, there is no option to define rating questions. I can see “select post type” and “category” only.
Who can help?
R you sure u have added the categories ?
I can see
- Rating Title Alignment
- Rating Title
= Select Post Type
- Select Category
If I select values from all fields, I can only save changes but cannot fill in rating questions somewhere.
Help is very much appreciated.
Thanks
I did not understand, what do you mean by rating question?
The value of Rating Title field along with stars will appear to the user at front end.
Maybe I do not understand the plugin but it says:
It allows site admins to create category based multiple rating value. On the frontend it should look like:
*****Overall Rating
*****Rating Option 1
*****Rating Option 2
*****Rating Option 3
In the backend, I cannot find a field where I can fill in the rating options like “friendliness etc.”. Do you understand my problem?
Michael
Solved! It was a Browser issue.
Hi,
I bought and installed your plugging but it’s not aligning 100% correctly
When writing a review, stars are not aligning on a nice way.
I’m not a css profesional, where/what do you think I would need to change the CSS to make it aligning like on trip advisor (see below) it would be great if it would be in two columns aligned instead as it’s now.
On my site :
[img]http://www.geotheme.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/i2g65-Screen-Shot-2013-01-20-at-14.27.49.png[/img]
On trip advisor :

If you could help to solve this, site would looks better.
Thanks
Sorry!! but this how i coded the current plugin. I am working on the next version to improve it. Plz wait till then.
Thanks
I’m facing the same issue. Have just bought this plugin..any idea when the next version will be out? Hope it will resolve the SQL issues other users are facing too..Otherwise, a great plugin
I have purchased this plugin but it has stopped working after i reinstalled wordpress and new geotheme version. it doent show me settings. it just allows me to create a new name of ratings but cannot modify the categories of multiple ratings.
Plz email me your site url and wordpress credentials to webnware [@] gmail . com
sent you the credentials
Can you please let me know, when would you look into my problem? I have already sent you my wordpress credentials !!
i have tested and found that it’s working fine, but if you have any problem then deactivate the plugin and activate it again.
I have tested it and found that its working fine there.

Just gone live with my site and I am monitoring and cleaning up errors and issues. Just picked up the following
[25-Jan-2013 08:13:26 UTC] WordPress database error You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘)’ at line 1 for query select COALESCE(AVG(rating_rating),0) from wnw_multi_rating where rating_status = ‘approved’ and rating_postid = 8697 and rating_comment_id in() made by require(‘wp-blog-header.php’), require_once(‘wp-includes/template-loader.php’), include(‘/themes/protected/single.php’), include_once(‘/themes/protected/library/includes/place_detail.php’), the_content, apply_filters(‘the_content’), call_user_func_array, wnw_overall_rating_comments, wnw_get_post_overall_ratings
Also appears that there is an issue with Wanggaurd which they are looking at, throws these two errors up
Notice: Undefined index: page in /home/mydomain/public_html/mydirectory/wp-content/plugins/gt-multi-ratings/add_submenu_page.php on line 2

Can you provide your views/pointers etc
Thanks
Really need you to look into this, getting hundreds of these errors. Perhaps others can check their server logs to see if this is a one off. This appears to be a a silent error in the DB but its producing hundreds of error logs and the site isn’t busy yet. Don’t want to ditch the plugin but need a solution for this or it will have to go.
Hi
I have WP 3.5 and latest geotheme installed now i have problems with your plugin.
I want to add more categories but your plugin does not pick up anymore new created categories from geotheme places categories. pls fix asap… disturbing
Hi ..
Ok works now . Needs to be at least one place in that categorie then it will show up
It appears that this plugin is no longer supported given the time that my last post has gone un-answered for. The SQL error is bloating the log file with the number of entries and it appears to be every time a listing is selected. It looks as though I will have to sort myself. I also now have an issue of the rating system not showing on HTML posts.
Shame that the author is choosing to ignore these posts given that there was an author post the same day I posted
Extremely poor
1 star service
2 star product
I also now have an issue of the rating system not showing on HTML posts.
Sorted this – categories need to be added to the rating system every time you create a new one.
Sorry for the late response.
I am looking into the issue. I will update u very soon.
Do we have any progress with this?
This is the most appalling support that I have ever had the misfortune to witness.
Those of you who are running this plug in I strongly urge you to look at your server logs – this issue will not be visible at the front end.
Prospective purchasers be warned
Sorry for the delay. I have uploaded latest files. Plz download the same zip from your account. Zip name is same as previous.
Thanks
Still loads of Errors – small selection of a very busy log file here : -

Hi, will there be an update soon ? I really need a fix to have the rating block alligned correctly. Thanks for support
Hi is there a fix for the errors and the allignment of the stars ?
I submitted a support request a few days ago and have not heard back so hopefully someone else can help……
I have GT Multi Ratings installed on my site. I am using about 8 different questions for each categories. The problem I am having is some of the questions might not be applicable for certain listings within that category. If I leave a question blank it negatively effects the rating on that page. If only two questions apply to that particular business and I give both of those 2 questions 5 stars but leave the other 6 blank it only gives it a 1 star rating. How can I get around this?
Pulled this today due to multiple complaints from those using the site – the sql issue being the major issue.
Support has been worse than useless, very little communication and no information on how to rectify this. Not sure if others are experiencing this if they are perhaps they should shout out. I have visited two other installations which are showing the issue so I know its not an isolated case.
A product is only ever as good as the support provided so be warned
Refund required
Plz let me know your website link.
Thanks
I re visited this issue this morning – it appears that the issue revolves around the tables in the database not being dropped when deleting from the WordPress admin area.
Log in into phpmyadmin and dropping these manually and then re installing everything has re created the missing field in the table. This should put things into order again and I will keep an eye on the site over the next few days to ensure that the site logs are correct and that no further errors are present. I will update this thread accordingly when complete.
Should I buy this multirating review plugin? I’ve purchased geotheme and I love it. This seems to have some problems, but it’s what I’m looking for. Please advise.
Tom
Hi,
I just bought and installed the plugin. Unfortunately, even after creating suitable rating names assigned to the correct category, I still do not see any rating option on the place details page.
Example: http://buzzthai.com/city/bangkok/sb-apartment/
Thanks.
